Hybrid Electrical Solutions is growing quickly, and our Maintenance team is growing with it. We're looking for an M&E Estimator to turn engineer reports and job information into clear, accurate quotations, keeping our customers' buildings safe and running.

It's a role where you'll learn fast, see the impact of your work every day, and have real room to progress as Hybrid continues to grow.

About Hybrid Electrical Solutions

Hybrid Solutions Group was founded in 2013 on a simple idea: build a business that works for customers and staff alike. That idea still shapes how we work. We're thoughtful, accountable and we look after our people.

Hybrid Electrical Solutions is the Group's mechanical and electrical contractor. We support customers from consultation and site survey through installation, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance, across commercial property, residential, highways, rail, public infrastructure and telecoms. Much of our work happens in live, occupied buildings, where getting it right first time really matters.

We're Kier's principal M&E partner on Transport for London's tunnels and pump stations contract, covering ten London road tunnels.

The role

Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and our engineers, you'll price reactive maintenance and smaller remedial works. This isn't a traditional large project tendering role. You'll handle a high volume of quotations, working out the labour and materials needed, applying agreed rates and getting commercially sound prices to customers quickly.

It's ideal for someone who understands M&E, building services or maintenance, ideally from a commercial or infrastructure background, and wants to build a broader estimating and commercial career.

Where this role can take you

  • A clear next step. As the business grows, there's a route from maintenance quotations into larger project estimating, tendering and our wider commercial team.
  • Learn from experienced people. Regular feedback and coaching from the Maintenance Manager, engineers and commercial colleagues.
  • See the whole picture. Direct exposure to both maintenance operations and commercial decisions, which is rare this early in an estimating career.
  • Grow with the business. As the Group grows quickly, new roles and responsibilities open up. We'd rather develop our own people into them.

What you'll do

  • Prepare accurate, timely quotations for reactive maintenance, remedial and smaller M&E works.
  • Review engineer reports, work instructions, job sheets and scopes to understand the work required.
  • Identify labour, materials, access and any other costs for each quotation.
  • Use agreed rate cards, historic pricing and supplier information to build commercially sound quotations.
  • Work with engineers and the Maintenance team to clarify technical details or fill in missing information.
  • Obtain and compare supplier prices where needed.
  • Keep clear, accurate records of quotations, assumptions and pricing.
  • Manage a varied workload and meet agreed response times.
  • Help develop consistent pricing templates, cost data and ways of working as the team grows.

About you

Essential

  • Experience producing quotations, estimates or pricing in M&E, building services, maintenance or a similar technical environment, ideally on commercial or infrastructure work.
  • A practical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical works.
  • Confidence working with labour, material and supplier costs.
  • Strong numerical skills and close attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, and confidence learning new pricing systems.
  • The ability to interpret engineer reports, job sheets, work instructions and scopes of work.
  • An organised approach, managing multiple quotations at different stages.
  • Clear communication, and confidence asking engineers or colleagues for more information.

Desirable

  • Experience as an Estimator, Estimating Administrator, Quotations Administrator or similar.
  • A commercial or infrastructure background, with an M&E contractor or building services business.
  • Experience quoting facilities management (FM) works, which transfers well to this role.
  • An electrical, mechanical, building services or other relevant technical qualification.
  • A trade or technical background.
  • Experience using rate cards, estimating software, CAFM or maintenance management systems.

What we offer

  • Β£35,000 to Β£42,000 per year, depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank
  • Training, coaching and support to build your estimating and technical knowledge
  • A route to progress into wider estimating and commercial roles as we grow
  • A varied workload across reactive maintenance and remedial M&E works
