The opportunity: Our Commercial Sales Manager role is a unique opportunity to support our growth and expansion. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role - you will manage and progress sales activities, developing relationships while delivering commercial agreements across a range of customers.
What you will be doing: Drawing upon your knowledge of working in aerospace, defence or capital equipment markets (or similarly complex B2B environments), you will coordinate and progress sales activities, applying a disciplined, structured and repeatable approach to campaign management. Here’s an overview of what you’ll be doing:
- You will ensure opportunities move efficiently through the pipeline and support consistent, repeatable sales processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage day to day sales activity: Coordinate and progress day‑to‑day commercial sales activities in the commercial market, progressing opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract closure.
- Sales enquiries and CRM stewardship: Maintain accurate records of sales enquiries using the CRM system ensuring consistent follow‑up and pipeline momentum. Categorise opportunities using the CRM system, for which you will be the primary custodian.
- Internal stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing team on campaign planning and coordination. Partner with other internal teams to select events, exhibitions and trade shows that are likely to generate leads or further strengthen existing relationships.
- Customer relationship management: Manage outreach and accounts with new and existing commercial customers to build long‑term and value‑driven partnerships, supporting repeat business.
- Feedback and continuous improvement: Capture and act on customer and market feedback to support product development, enhancement or refinement and commercial success.
Your skills and experience (essential): We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Ability to coordinate the full sales process, using a CRM to develop sales pipelines and applying lead‑generation and qualification methodologies to support opportunity management.
- Strong communication and organisation skills with the ability to translate detailed technical or product information into clear, engaging commercial discussions.
- Ability to line manage, or willingness to take on people management.
- Experience developing end‑to‑end sales processes, including pipeline development, opportunity qualification, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Experience working within structured sales methodologies and campaign‑based sales processes.
- Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to sales, business development or aviation.
