Overview
In this Team Leader role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of The Montagu area, guiding both full-time and casual colleagues to deliver high-standard guest service. You’ll align team objectives with the department plan and ensure clear communication of strategy in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager. You will coach and empower staff to resolve guest concerns smoothly while supporting cost-aware staffing and payroll processes. This position offers a chance to shape guest experiences in a luxury hotel setting and contribute to Hyatt’s service-excellence culture. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the assigned area and manage both full-time and casual team members
- Set and monitor objectives aligned to the department plan and long-term goals
- Effectively communicate departmental strategy to the team with the Restaurant Manager
- Maintain clear team communication to ensure smooth operations
- Implement action plans to uphold high standards of customer service
- Train, coach, and empower staff to resolve guest concerns with minimal disruption
- Assist with labour cost control by creating weekly rotas and supporting payroll processes
Key requirements
- Proven supervisory or management experience in hospitality, ideally luxury hotel or high-end restaurant
- Strong leadership and excellent communication skills
- Experience in team management, rota planning, and cost control
- Ability to motivate and develop team members while maintaining high operational standards
