Duties and responsibilities related to the Public Area Team leader role:
- Supervise and support the Public Areas team, providing training, guidance, and coaching to ensure exceptional cleanliness and service standards are maintained at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections of all public areas, including guest facilities, colleague areas, meeting rooms, lifts, restrooms, the gym, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-presented.
- Coordinate and monitor daily cleaning activities, deep cleaning schedules, and special projects to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout the hotel.
- Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance issues, working closely with the Engineering team to ensure timely resolution and minimise disruption to guests and colleagues.
- Monitor the condition of hotel fixtures, furnishings, flooring, upholstery, plants, and decorative features, arranging repairs or restoration works as required.
- Manage cleaning supplies, equipment, and inventory levels, ensuring resources are available, well-maintained, and used in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, cleaning activities, maintenance requests, and departmental reports, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment while promoting health, safety, and compliance standards across all public and back-of-house areas.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive hospitality professional with previous housekeeping or public areas supervisory experience, ideally within a luxury hotel environment. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across departments are essential. Experience in managing teams, coordinating maintenance follow-up, and ensuring health and safety compliance would be highly advantageous.
