The Opportunity Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Junior Sous Chef to join our Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill team. As Junior Sous Chef, you will support the senior kitchen leadership team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences across all outlets. You’ll play a key role in supervising daily kitchen operations, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Kitchen Supervision: Assist in leading and coordinating kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations across your assigned section and supporting a positive, high-performing team culture.
Menu Execution & Quality Control: Prepare and oversee dishes to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and timing, while contributing to seasonal menu updates and innovation.
Inventory & Cost Awareness: Support stock control, supplier coordination, and waste reduction efforts to help manage food costs and maintain efficiency.
Training & Development: Mentor and support Commis and Demi Chefs, encouraging skill development and fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.
Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in line with HACCP and local regulations, ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Service Support & Problem Solving: Step in during busy service periods or challenges, making quick decisions to maintain quality and service standards.
Collaboration with Senior Team: Work closely with the Sous and Head Chefs on menu planning, daily specials, and operational improvements.

Experience Required Proven experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant environment
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP compliance
Ability to lead a section and support junior team members
Commitment to quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Experience Preferred Formal culinary training or diploma
Experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining setting
Familiarity with UK hospitality standards and local compliance (e.g., Food Hygiene Rating Scheme)
Exposure to menu development and seasonal planning
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
