Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars is located next to Blackfriars Station in the heart of the City of London, within walking distance of St Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern and the South Bank. This Grade II listed five-star hotel stands on the historic site of King Henry VIII’s Bridewell Palace and features 205 stylish guestrooms and suites along with versatile meeting and event spaces.
Duties and responsibilities related to the Assistant Finance Manager role:
- Support the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel, ensuring processes and controls are followed in line with company policies and relevant UK regulations.
- Supervise core accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, reconciliations, credit control, and balance sheet reviews.
- Assist department heads in monitoring budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring expenditure is appropriately authorised.
- Provide financial and administrative support across the business, helping teams understand revenue performance, costs, and financial reporting information.
- Support the Director of Finance in the smooth running of the Finance Department, including overseeing operations in their absence when required.
- Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations, reporting, and the preparation of financial information for review.
- Prepare team rotas and ensure timesheets are completed and submitted accurately and on time, in line with operational requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and business planning activities throughout the year.
A qualification in Accounting or Finance, such as a bachelor’s degree or ACCA qualification, would be highly beneficial. Previous experience in an Assistant Finance Manager, Finance Supervisor, or similar supervisory role within hotel finance or hospitality accounting is preferred, ideally gained in an upscale or luxury hotel environment. Experience managing or supporting a team would be advantageous.
They should also bring strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and potential risks proactively, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
