Duties and responsibilities related to the Shift Technician role

• Being responsible for carrying out any required engineering or maintenance tasks
• Repair of defects and the safe and efficient operation of the building, plant, and equipment
• Performing repairs and maintenance in guest bedrooms, public and back of house areas, ensuring they are maintained to a high level and exceed guest expectations
• Regularly inspecting the entire building with particular attention to safety features and monitoring the condition of all operating equipment
• Collecting and escorting contractors from their arrival points, bringing them to the engineering offices to sign in, and then taking them onward to their designated work areas

About you

You will have a strong understanding of general maintenance and engineering tasks in a hotel and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. A qualification in specialised areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing is beneficial. Since you will have regular interaction with our guests, excellent communication skills are essential.
