Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all hotel processes are in compliance with all aspects of UK rules and regulations, the Management Agreement and Uniform System of Accounts to protect and ensure the financial integrity of the hotel operations in every aspect.
- Supervise all on-site accounting activities including general books, income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collection, bank and balance sheets.
- Oversee that all departments’ operational budgets are strictly adhered to, that all costs are controlled and expenditures are properly approved.
- Assist in providing financial support to the business, simplifying work systems and providing support to all other teams in the interpretation and analysis of revenue and cost matters.
- Oversee the Finance Department when the Director of Finance is on leave or attending any other business meetings and functions.
- Oversee the month-end procedures and interpret and analyse the financial statements.
- Prepare and ensure rotas are posted and timesheets submitted on time, making sure that they reflect business needs and other key performance indicators.
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan and lead the monthly reforecast of revenues and expenses.
- Serve as the main point of contact and troubleshooter for IT systems with the SSC IT teams in Germany and the SSC accounting teams in India.
Qualifications
- A qualification in Accounting or Finance, such as a bachelor’s degree or ACCA qualification.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Finance Manager, Finance Supervisor, or similar supervisory role within hotel finance or hospitality accounting, preferably in an upscale or luxury hotel environment.
- Experience managing or supporting a team.
- Proven experience using Opera PMS and Micros systems, with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and potential risks proactively, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
