Location: Based at Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, near Marble Arch.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday office hours. Hybrid working available, with up to 2 days per week from home.

We are looking for a Payroll Assistant - UK to join our UK finance function and support payroll activity across our UK Managed Hotels and offices. This role would suit someone who is detail focused, organised and confident working with sensitive information, and who is looking to build their payroll experience within a leading global hospitality company.

As Payroll Assistant - UK, reporting into the Payroll Manager UK, you will support with the preparation, processing and administration of payroll for colleagues across our UK Managed Hotels and offices. You will help ensure payroll information is accurate, up to date, correctly authorised and processed in line with statutory requirements, company policy and internal deadlines. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems and people, and who takes pride in providing a reliable and professional payroll service.

Duties and responsibilities related to the Payroll Assistant - UK role:

  • Preparing payroll information for UK Managed Hotels and offices accurately and on time.
  • Checking regular hours, overtime, starters, leavers and changes of status before payroll input.
  • Ensuring payroll changes are appropriately authorised and supported by accurate documentation.
  • Supporting the preparation and checking of monthly and quarterly payroll related submissions, including PAYE, National Insurance, pension and other statutory requirements.
  • Helping to ensure statutory deductions and other salary deductions are processed correctly and in line with UK legislation and company policy.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring files are organised, up to date and well documented.
  • Supporting a consistent and aligned payroll approach across UK locations.
  • Responding to payroll queries in a professional, timely and confidential manner.
  • Working closely with hotel teams, finance, People / HR teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is accurate and complete.
  • Identifying ways to improve processes and make better use of payroll systems and automation where possible.
  • Supporting payroll and people reporting, analysis and information required for monthly financial processes.
  • Participating in and leading UK Payroll and HR project work as appropriate, supporting the growth of UK locations and helping to align processes, policies, and ways of working across the business.

About You:

You will be a highly organised and accurate individual with strong attention to detail and a confidential approach to your work. You will be comfortable working to deadlines, managing multiple priorities and communicating with colleagues at different levels across the business. Previous experience in payroll, finance administration, HR administration or a similar role would be beneficial, together with strong numerical accuracy and confidence using systems and Microsoft Excel. Previous experience using Fourth would also be beneficial. You will bring a helpful, service focused approach and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. You will be proactive, organised and able to work effectively in a busy environment, while identifying ways to improve processes and support consistent ways of working. Knowledge of UK payroll processes, statutory deductions and employment related payroll requirements would be advantageous. Previous hotel or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
