Duties and responsibilities related to the Assistant Finance Manager Role:
- Ensuring that all hotel processes are in compliance with all aspects of UK rules and regulations, the Management Agreement and Uniform System of Accounts in order to protect and ensure the financial integrity of the hotel operations in every aspect.
- Supervise all on‑site accounting activities including general books, income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collection, bank and balance sheets.
- To oversee that all department’s operational budget is strictly adhered to, that all costs are controlled and expenditures are properly approved.
- Assists in providing financial support to the business, simplifying work systems and providing support to all the other teams in the interpretation and analysis of revenue & costs matters.
- To oversee the Finance Department when the DOF is on leave or attending any other business meetings and functions.
- To oversee the month‑end procedures and interpret and analyses the financial statements.
- To prepare and ensure rotas are posted and timesheets submitted on time, making sure that they reflect business needs and other key performance indicators.
- To assist in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan and lead the monthly reforecast of revenues and expenses.
- Be the main point of contact and troubleshooter for IT systems with the SSC IT teams in Germany & SSC teams in accounting from India.
About you:
- A qualification in Accounting or Finance, such as a bachelor’s degree or ACCA qualification, would be highly beneficial.
- Previous experience in an Assistant Finance Manager, Finance Supervisor, or similar supervisory role within hotel finance or hospitality accounting is preferred, ideally gained in an upscale or luxury hotel environment.
- Experience managing or supporting a team would be advantageous.
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience using Opera PMS and Micros systems, with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- They should also bring strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and potential risks proactively, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
