The Bartender/Server works at our shoreside Café, The Landing. This is a responsible, demanding but fun job with an opportunity to meet a wide range of interesting people. Bartenders are under the direct supervision of the Director of Food & Beverage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of all food and beverage menus including daily specials.
  • Answer questions regarding menu and beverage/cocktail options.
  • Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
  • Receive payment from the customer and process change.
  • Prepare beverages ordered.
  • Provide ultimate customer service in an efficient, courteous manner.
  • Uphold sanitation and food safety principles.
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies.
  • Dispense alcoholic beverages responsibly in accordance with policy, procedure, and legal requirements.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.

All food and beverage staff work as a team to support one another in the delivery of exceptional service.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum age 18.
  • Prior bartender experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow through with simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to perform work tasks that require bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential duties for the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Typical Work Environments:

  • Harbor, marine (maritime) environment, indoor cafe with patio and upper deck.
