Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Accountant is responsible for preparation of financial accounts, consolidated reporting, and statutory compliance for the HX Group of companies.
The business has been undergoing a period of rapid transformation following the split from Hurtigruten in 2025, which means that you will be at the heart of ongoing change and embedding the enhanced control environment across all key finance processes.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Assist with the production of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory, and regulatory reporting deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders in compliance with IFRS.
- Maintain and enhance the financial control environment with regards to Group consolidation reporting activities and the broader financial control framework.
- Assist in the timely and accurate delivery of monthly group accounts to management, the Board and external regulators.
- Work with Treasury to ensure the monthly movements on investments and debt in the ledger are correctly calculated and explained.
- Manage the monthly balance sheet variance analysis and key balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the timely delivery of the Group’s financial statements and disclosures, quarterly and annual reports.
- Assist with the external audit process ensuring all requests for information are provided on a timely basis.
- Prepare technical accounting memos in line with IFRS and applicable local standards.
- Assist in maintaining the Group’s compliance with various external regulatory requirements.
- Assist the Head of Tax with maintenance and implementation of group transfer pricing policy.
- Follow finance protocols, policies and procedures and operate in full compliance to guidelines.
- Any other duties and ad-hoc as requested by the Group Financial Controller.
- Contribute to broader team and business priorities as needed.

Requirements
- Fluency in English is required.
- Experience in maritime, expedition, or cruise industry beneficial but not required.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Audit and compliance experience
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 beneficial but not required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to process financial data quickly, investigate variances and explain movements clearly.
- Keen attention to detail with an understanding of the pitfalls of interconnected finance systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues, supporting transformation and improving processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple finance teams/departments and explain complex accounting issues to non-accountants.
- Collaborative approach to work that is rooted in curiosity and a drive to do any task well together.
- Ability to organise work around multiple deadlines and handle conflicting priorities
- Tech-forward and adaptable, with a proven ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel.
- Experience working in a multi-national organisation with a global guest mix.
