The role of the post holder is to support the Quality assurance programme. The key tasks for this role is to ensure we meet our policy compliance demands and to support the wider functions of the clinical audit and CARE excellence accreditation teams and quality assurance work streams. This role requires a highly organised individual with solid project management skills and experience of working across professional and organisational boundaries to help deliver sustainable improvement.

Main duties of the job:

  • Responsibility for policy assurance, ensuring our policies meet the required standards, are in date, shared and consulted upon accordingly.
  • Ensure policies meet the required standards including how they are formatted.
  • Liaise with a range of staff of all levels and supporting them to ensure their policies meet the required standards.
  • Arranging and facilitating the Policy assurance group ensuring there is good representation.
  • Supporting those with lived experience who support the Policy assurance group.
  • Produce a formal report to update on Policy compliance.
  • Support the CARE excellence accreditation work as required through supporting reviews and undertaking observations.
  • Support the NICE compliance work as required with the Clinical audit department to ensure gap analysis are undertaken for all relevant guidance.
  • Support the Quality accounts work as required to ensure information is gathered in a timely manner.
  • Support Clinical audit department as required with occasional data collection and data inputting.
  • Support adhoc Quality assurance work as required.

Qualifications Required:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant corporate experience in the NHS or social care.
  • Evidence of recent and relevant continuing professional development i.e NHS Leadership Academy Programme and project management experience/qualification e.g., Prince 2/MSP or equivalent.
  • Registered Mental Health or Learning Disabilities Nursing Qualification (will consider other specialty nursing qualification) desirable.

Experience Required:

  • Significant experience of working in a similar role i.e., 3 years.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering quality assurance projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing policies and procedures.
  • Good understanding of quality assurance methodology.
  • Experience of working in the NHS and the public sector; experience of working within the mental health and learning disability sector is desirable but not essential.

Key Relationships:

The role sits within the Nursing division and will report to the Associate director of Quality and Assurance and sits alongside the CARE excellence accreditation team and the Clinical audit team. The role will involve and require the post holder to communicate with staff of all levels, people who use services and carers and be able to adapt communication formats in an accessible manner in response to local requirements.
