Join our dynamic and supportive team where your expertise will help shape the future of mental health care within our trust. You will work within Surrey Heath Children and Young Services team based at Unither House, Chertsey covering the NW patch of Surrey.
Main duties of the job:
- Provide diagnostic, assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health problems within a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Promote high-quality multidisciplinary working and relationships.
- Provide back-up during an emergency out-of-hours rota and for A&E.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team setting with other consultants, SAS doctors and trainees.
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 60, with review cycles as described.

Person Specification:
Essential:
- MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
- Full medical registration with a licence to practice.
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (within 6–12 months of interview).
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months.
- Knowledge of legislation, Department of Health guidance.
- Knowledge of NHS strategic vision in the Next Stage Review.
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective.
- Experience across multiple patient groups and settings.
- Good standing with GMC concerning warnings and conditions on practice.
Desirable:
- Higher degree (MD, PhD, MSc) or other clinical qualifications.
- MRCPsych or equivalent.
- Management qualification or evidence of leadership interest.
- Specific training qualification or attendance on a recognised teaching course.
- International candidate sponsorship (if applicable).
