Our logistics client is looking to engage an IT Business Analyst who has been supporting links between IT and the business and helping to ensure technology solutions meet business needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical ability, curiosity, and a desire to grow into a future IT Business Partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Engagement & Analysis: Work with business teams to understand their processes, challenges and priorities, capturing and documenting requirements. Assist in aligning IT activities with business needs by contributing insights and analysis.
- Stakeholder Support: Develop positive working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, acting as a reliable point of contact for IT project related queries or requirements.
- Project Support: Contribute to IT projects by supporting requirement gathering, documentation, testing and coordination tasks. Help track progress of assigned workstreams, escalating risks or issues as needed.
- Business Applications: Learn the core business applications including ERP and Warehouse Management solutions to move into a lead role in coordinating implementations. Assist with first-line analysis and coordination of support issues whilst being mentored on third-party support partner engagement.
- Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement: Help monitor service performance and gather feedback from users to identify areas for improvement. Participate in process reviews and suggest enhancements that improve efficiency or service quality.
- Innovation & Change Support: Contribute ideas on how technology could improve business operations, supporting senior partners in exploring opportunities. Assist with change management activities such as communication, training materials, and user support during system or process changes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Essential: Education or experience in IT, Business, or a related field (degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex information. Clear and confident communication skills, with an eagerness to learn how to translate business needs into technical concepts. A keen interest in business systems such as ERP or WMS, with a desire to build expertise over time. Proactive, curious, and motivated to develop a career at the intersection of IT and business.
- Desirable (to develop over time): Exposure to ERP systems (SAP ECC6 or similar) or Warehouse Management Solutions. Experience supporting or contributing to IT or business improvement projects. Awareness of IT frameworks (e.g., ITIL) or project methodologies.
This is a permanent role. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
