As specialists in fencing and vegetation management, we are used to working with leading civil engineering contractors, highway authorities and rail networks. Since 1996, we have concentrated much of our resources on the railway industry and have steadily increased our share of work to the point where we are now a principal contractor on over three quarters of the railway network.
We have also been providing a comprehensive range of vegetation management services and solutions for over 20 years. In recent years, we have introduced a dedicated ecology department and are now able to provide a complete package for ecological and vegetation management that enhances our capability to provide an efficient holistic service.
The Role:
Join our team on HS2, Europe’s largest infrastructure project, to deliver critical enabling works and civil engineering solutions. We are seeking a precision-driven Site Engineer to take immediate ownership of site-setting out and quality assurance protocols, specifically focusing on extensive fencing packages and asset protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Precision Setting Out: Establish clear line and level control for temporary and permanent fencing boundaries using total stations, GPS, and standard surveying equipment.
- Quality Assurance (ITPs): Complete, manage, and sign off Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to guarantee compliance with HS2 technical specifications and asset standards.
- As-Built Records: Produce accurate as-built surveys and maintain comprehensive engineering logs, drawings, and records.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Civil Engineering Degree (Preferred): Or equivalent technical qualification/experience in a relevant construction discipline.
- HS2 or Major Project Experience (Preferred): Prior experience working within the strict compliance framework of HS2 or tier-1 major rail/infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency (Essential): Competency with modern surveying instruments (Leica/Topcon) and CAD software for data extraction.
- Quality Focus (Essential): Demonstrated experience driving the ITP process from initial checklist creation through to final handover.
- Certifications (Essential): Valid CSCS card (Civil Engineering or Supervisor preferred).
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) is a major advantage.
