HW Interim Solutions are supporting a well-established retail operator in the appointment of an Interim Project Manager to lead the delivery of retail fit-out and construction projects across a portfolio of travel hub locations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced environment delivering retail stores, food & beverage outlets and customer-facing commercial spaces within complex operational settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of retail fit-out and construction projects from concept through to handover.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across airport and travel hub locations.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers and specialist stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Manage landlord, operational and regulatory approvals within highly regulated environments.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Support store opening programmes, snagging, handover and operational readiness activities.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering retail fit-out, refurbishment or construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Experience working within airports, travel retail, transport hubs, shopping centres or other high-footfall operational environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across operational, commercial and construction teams.
- Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes and project controls.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, forecasting and cost control.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within fast-paced environments.
Highly Desirable
- Experience working with airport authorities, landlords or concession operators.
- Knowledge of operational constraints within live trading environments.
- Professional qualification in Construction, Engineering or Project Management (APM, PRINCE2, PMP, RICS or similar).
