HW Interim Solutions are working with a key retail client to appoint an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of retail construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects across a portfolio of high-profile customer-facing locations. Working within a fast-paced operational environment, you will take ownership of projects from initial concept and planning through to successful handover, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality expectations.
The successful candidate will coordinate internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and suppliers while maintaining a strong focus on project management, health and safety and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full lifecycle of retail construction and fit-out projects from concept through to completion.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate and manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout project delivery.
- Oversee site activities to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational requirements.
- Liaise closely with Procurement and Commercial teams to support tendering, supplier selection, cost control, and contract management activities.
- Monitor project budgets, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation plans where required.
- Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management across all project phases.
- Manage project reporting, documentation, and governance requirements.
- Support handover activities and ensure all project close-out requirements are completed.
- Proven experience managing retail construction, refurbishment, or fit-out projects from inception to completion.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, and contractor management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial management principles.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within live operational environments would be highly advantageous.
- Relevant project management, construction, facilities management, or engineering qualification preferred.
- Experience delivering projects within airports, transport hubs, or other highly regulated environments.
- Airport retail fit-out and concession development experience would be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and CDM requirements.
This role is offered on a day rate basis.
