Due to the continued expansion of the group and a growing client base globally, HW Group are looking to appoint an ambitious, driven professional to join the Accounts team in Leeds as an Assistant Management Accountant. The ideal candidate will be either a finance graduate or someone AAT qualified looking to do their ACCA or CIMA qualification; this role will offer additional study support. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role will gain exposure to the entirety of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice & timesheet processing
  • Responsibility for accounts payable and receivable activities
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and balance sheet accounts
  • Process journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Analyse financial data and prepare reports for management
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Support month-end and year-end finance processes
  • Assist with VAT returns, audits and other statutory reporting
  • Work with other departments to gather financial information
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes and systems

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, is AAT qualified or part ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Has strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Is eager to learn and develop within a finance career and achieve progression

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Previous internship, placement year, or part-time finance experience
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage or Xero
