HW Finance are currently seeking an ambitious Group Financial Controller for a growing consumer goods business based in North Manchester. With revenues in excess of £50m, our client is undergoing significant transformation and alongside the industry recognised FD, the Group Financial Controller will play a key role in the continued evolution of the finance function.

This is a key role within the finance leadership team, with responsibility for:

  • Financial reporting
  • Improving financial controls
  • Business partnering
  • Managing and developing a growing finance team
  • Supporting the company wide strategy

We require a hands-on individual who genuinely wants to make a big impact in a growing and entrepreneurial business for the long term.

The Role

  • Implementing best in class financial controls across the group
  • Overseeing month and year end accounts, ensuring accurate and timely submission
  • Leading and developing a small yet growing finance team
  • Reviewing the management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory accounts
  • Providing commercial support to aid in strategic decision making
  • Producing monthly MI to senior management
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Business partnering with senior leadership to maximise opportunities and profitability
  • Continuous improvement of processes and systems
  • Supporting future acquisitions across the group including integration

The Individual

  • Fully qualified accountant, ideally practice trained
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Experience of managing and developing an end to end finance function
  • Significant experience of cash flow and working capital
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with senior leadership
  • Experience of working in a multi-entity or multi-site environment is highly desired
