Overview
UK Corporate Tax Manager β Location: Leeds (Hybrid β 2 days in the office). Reporting to: Head of Tax. This standalone UK-focused role offers autonomy, exposure, and ownership across all areas of corporate taxation with strong senior-level support. This opportunity is suited to someone with solid in-house experience or a background in a Big 4/top-tier firm who is ready to take the next step in a commercial, hands-on setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full UK corporate tax lifecycle β including preparation and submission of returns, managing group reliefs, QIPs, and loan relationship reviews.
- Lead transfer pricing compliance and documentation, ensuring alignment with BEPS principles and UK tax requirements.
- Manage HMRC enquiries and investigations, coordinating timely, accurate responses with key internal stakeholders.
- Support corporate tax audits, oversee the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) programme, and manage R&D tax credit claims and documentation.
- Provide expert tax input on corporate restructurings, refinancings, M&A activity, and business reorganisations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on due diligence and transaction structuring to ensure tax efficiency and compliance.
- Deliver strategic advice on legal entity structuring, tax risk management, and governance.
- Work closely with internal teams and external advisors to resolve complex tax matters and align tax planning with business objectives.
- Advise senior leadership on the tax implications of key commercial and strategic decisions.
- Mentor junior team members, helping to build capability and knowledge within the function.
- Foster collaboration with audit, legal, and finance teams to ensure accurate, transparent, and compliant tax reporting.
