HW Finance are partnering with a growing organisation based in Leeds to recruit an Interim Management Accountant on an initial contract basis, with the potential view to go permanent at the end of the assignment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a business at a key stage of its growth. You will work closely with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, providing meaningful insight to support decision-making, alongside ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Due to ongoing growth and changes, including acquisitions, the business is looking for an experienced Accountant to support the finance function. This will be for a period of 6 Months +, on a salary or daily rate equivalent of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Act as the primary finance contact for internal stakeholders, responding to accounting and financial queries.
- Oversee the accurate maintenance of sales and purchase ledger activities.
- Manage daily bank transactions and complete cashbook reconciliations.
- Process supplier payments and perform regular supplier account and invoice reconciliations.
- Produce monthly management accounts, incorporating variance analysis and business performance insights.
- Maintain key balance sheet schedules including accruals, prepayments and fixed asset records, alongside cost analysis reporting.
- Complete balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, providing detailed commentary and recommendations where required.
- Prepare and post journals, ensuring the journal register is kept up to date and fully auditable.
- Support the year-end audit process by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Deliver financial reporting and period-end activities within agreed deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and reforecasting exercises.
- Coordinate and administer monthly payroll activities, resolving queries from employees and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and efficiencies.
The business is looking for a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong Excel skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively.
