An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a growing SME in East Yorkshire during a key period of growth and transition. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll play a pivotal part in strengthening financial controls, driving reporting improvements, and supporting the senior leadership team through a period of change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely management accounts and month-end reporting.
  • Lead on cashflow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning activities.
  • Maintain and develop robust financial controls and processes to support growth.
  • Manage balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and working capital reporting.
  • Partner with the MD and operational teams to provide commercial insight and financial analysis.
  • Support ongoing systems and process improvements as the business scales.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors and banks as required.

About You

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager role.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on SME environment.
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting, cashflow, and controls.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Previous experience supporting businesses through growth or transition would be advantageous.
