HW Finance are delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with a well established food manufacturing group, who are looking to appoint a new Finance Controller for one of their major sites. Reporting into a Divisional Finance Director, this is a senior leadership role with real influence which will combine financial control, commercial insight and people leadership to drive performance and continuous improvement.
The role involves taking full ownership of the site finance function, leading a team of finance professionals and acting as a key business partner to senior operational leaders. The role spans strategic planning, robust financial control and hands-on commercial support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the site finance strategy to support growth and performance
- Delivering accurate and timely weekly and monthly management accounts
- Budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning in line with the business cycle
- Manufacturing accounting and product costing (existing and new products)
- Performance, cost and productivity reporting with a continuous improvement mindset
- Managing audit, statutory compliance and internal controls
- Assessing and supporting investment and capital projects
- Leading, developing and succession-planning a finance team
- Acting as a trusted finance business partner to site and senior leaders
As part of the site leadership team, you’ll also play a visible role in wider strategic and cross-functional projects.
About you:
You’ll be a qualified finance professional with strong leadership credentials and experience running a fully autonomous finance function within a manufacturing or operational environment.
You’ll bring:
- CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualification
- Senior finance leadership experience with stakeholder influence
- Strong manufacturing finance, costing and commercial expertise
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Confidence working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Strong systems capability (ERP and Microsoft Office)
- A proactive, improvement-focused and hands-on leadership style
