Job Description
HW Finance are currently supporting an SME business in Brighton, who’re seeking a Number 1 in finance to join them as a Senior Group Financial Controller on an interim basis.
Based in Brighton on a hybrid basis, you will be joining the business for a period of 6 Months and be offered a salary of £100k – £120k per annum Benefits.
This role offers a unique opportunity to take on a highly visible and influential position, driving financial stability and governance at a pivotal time. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leadership and play a key role in providing critical assurance to the Board.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the annual financial close, ensuring precision and adherence to regulatory standards. Budget planning and management will be a core focus, alongside acting as the primary liaison for external audit partners and ensuring the organisation is fully prepared for audit engagement.
A key part of the role involves consolidated financial results across the group, while also contributing to strategic initiatives through targeted project work.
The role also involves leading a finance team of seven and coordinating with external advisors, including tax specialists. Oversight of financial risk and compliance frameworks will be essential to maintain operational integrity.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation and professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset is key, as is the ability to quickly establish credibility and operate effectively in a hands-on capacity. While prior experience with FCA regulations is not essential, confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and contributing to governance forums is crucial.
