The Role
The Streetworks assistant supports the Construction team in coordinating and managing the street works activities to ensure we are adhering to the NRSWA guidelines. This role involves liaising with internal and external parties, completing relevant documents, updating relevant systems and assisting in the planning and execution permits.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Project Managers to fulfil the administrative elements of streetworks
- Update and maintain key company databases
- Organising planned and emergency street works notices/permits
- Opening and closing of streetworks notices/permits including registering reinstatement details within timescales
- Liaising with Local Authorities and sub-contractors
- Coordinating with other 3rd parties for parking suspensions, bus stop suspensions, road closures etc
- Monitor notices/permits to ensure there are no overruns
- Proactively escalate problems to the Senior managers to avoid exposure to Health and Safety risks, customer complaints and commercial exposure
- Work within guidance of the company policies and procedures
Experience & Qualities
Essential
- Experience working in an office environment
- Accuracy of work and attention to detail
- Be methodical in work approaches
- Professional, helpful, can-do attitude and ability to work under pressure
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
Desirable
- Working knowledge of the utility industry
- Ability to multitask and prioritise own workload in line with guidance from senior members of the team
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Relevant experience in streetworks coordination/NRSWA
- Understanding of streetworks legislation/regulations

- Full Time, Permanent role
- Monday - Friday 8:30am - 17:00pm (40 hours per week)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays as standard
