Are you an experienced Defendant Insurance Solicitor with strong Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) experience?
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate Solicitor to join an established Insurance and Complex Claims team in Leeds.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Insurance Solicitor looking to take the next step in their career, handling a varied caseload of complex Defendant Insurance claims, primarily Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims arising from serious injuries.
The role
You will handle your own caseload of complex EL and PL claims, whilst also supporting Partners on higher-value and catastrophic injury / complex claims.
Your work will include:
- Handling complex Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims
- Advising insurers and commercial organisations on liability, indemnity and contractual issues
- Developing case strategy and providing clear legal advice
- Negotiating, mediating and litigating claims
- Conducting advocacy and attending court where required
- Managing your own caseload, deadlines and financial targets
- Supervising junior solicitors and support staff
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development
About you
You will be a qualified Solicitor or CILEX equivalent with 7+ years’ PQE, with demonstrable experience in Defendant Insurance, Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims.
You will ideally have:
- Strong Defendant EL/PL experience
- Excellent knowledge of CPR and Insurance litigation
- Experience acting for insurers and commercial clients
- Experience of complex and/or high-value injury claims
- Advocacy and court experience
- Previous supervision experience
- Experience managing your own caseload and meeting fee targets
- Good client care and communication skills
- An interest in business development
Experience of catastrophic loss, construction or sports-related claims would be advantageous but is not essential.
