hVIVO is currently seeking a motivated, versatile and forward thinking Pharmacy Assistant to join the FluCamp team across our sites in Whitechapel & Canary Wharf, east London on a one year fixed term contract. hVIVO conducts human challenge clinical trials. The end goal of our clinical trials is to potentially eradicate common respiratory illnesses like the common cold and flu - or at least make treatment of them as easy and effective as possible. Our trial volunteers are central to the work that we do. Our studies focus on testing new treatments on real people, in a safe, controlled, clinical environment.

You will work in a team of Pharmacy Assistants to cover shifts in our clinical trial unit participating in the preparation, return, checking and dispensing of investigational products for Clinical Trial participants. Our sites require cover across a variety of shifts Monday-Sunday, day and night shifts. Shift durations can range and can start as early as 7am and end as late as 8pm - full flexibility for all shifts is required. You will work full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the preparation and dispensing of investigational products for Clinical Trial participants in accordance with approved protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate accountability and appropriate IMP storage conditions to support service delivery.
  • Ensure working within hVIVO quality systems and standard operating procedures which are maintained in accordance with principles of GCP.
  • Participate in clinical and facility audits in order to maintain department standards.
  • Pro-actively raise communications to resolve and improve workflow issues to ensure all team members are suitably informed.
  • Actively participate in team meetings.
  • Ensure efficient, safe work processes are in place to maintain patient safety.
Qualifications
  • Experience in aseptic techniques.
  • Experience handling, preparation and dispensing of drugs in different formulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ICH GCP/FDA regulations desirable.
  • GMP background preferred.
  • Experience in clinical research a plus.
