The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced VP, Business Development to head up our Business Development team. This role will focus on driving the Business Development team across the full spectrum of services hVIVO and group provide, such as full clinical site services, lab services, storage services, and human challenge trials.

Main Responsibilities

  • Investigate and develop strategic business relationships for specific service areas and new product development.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Business Development & Marketing Department.
  • Manage and promote development of clinical trial business with new and existing key accounts; set the targets for the Sales Team and assign individuals with key accounts and review progress.
  • Design and implement new strategies to create revenues from all aspects of the business.
  • Act as a Senior Executive for the key clients and take the lead in hVIVO's Business Development planning, consistency and quality of delivery of business services.
  • Lead in internal strategic planning for delivery of pipeline repeat business from key clients and identifying new areas of opportunity across EMEA.
  • Analyse market opportunities and create strategies for new lines of businesses that will drive revenue growth and shareholder value.
  • Work closely with Commercial Operations to negotiate and close contracts with existing clients and new accounts.
  • Participate in senior level group discussions and make a positive contribution to the future development of hVIVO.

Skills & Experiences

  • Proactively target new clients across the global region.
  • Target the increase of revenue generation for new and existing clients.
  • Set levels and drive revenue generation to achieve targets both at individual and team level.
  • Develop and manage new leads and opportunities from early stages through to contract signature.
  • Identify and attend, or delegate team members to attend, conferences and networking within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry to generate new leads and opportunities for hVIVO.
  • Host client visits to hVIVO’s offices.
  • Attend off-site client meetings.
  • Create and evolve the KPIs for Sales activities, set targets for team members and manage the reporting on and updating the opportunity pipeline on a regular basis.
  • Prepare regular departmental reporting, including Board reports.
