Location: Field-Based β Covering Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford & Crewe
Salary: Up to Β£30,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Fabric Engineer / Handyperson to join a field-based maintenance team supporting residential properties across Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and Crewe. This role focuses on delivering high-quality fabric, building and general maintenance work to ensure all properties remain safe, functional and well-maintained.
You will carry out a mix of reactive repairs, small works, and planned maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is completed to professional standards and within agreed service timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fabric and general building maintenance across a range of residential properties
- Carry out repairs including:
- Joinery and basic carpentry
- Kitchen and bathroom fitting tasks
- General plumbing repairs
- Patch plastering and basic tiling
- Painting and decorating
- Small fabric fixes and building fabric upkeep
- Complete planned maintenance tasks assigned by your manager
- Manage reactive repair requests and ensure jobs are delivered within the required SLA
- Maintain a high level of workmanship, safety and customer service
- Ensure all work areas are left safe, clean and tidy after each task
- Follow all Health & Safety guidelines, ensuring the safety of yourself and occupants
- Use a company purchasing card to manage materials from approved suppliers
- Maintain a clean, professional company vehicle and complete vehicle checks as required
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer, Maintenance Operative, Handyperson, Multi-Skilled Operative or similar
- Strong practical skills in joinery, basic plumbing, decorating and general building maintenance
- Ability to manage your own workload and work independently
- Strong fault-finding skills and a proactive approach to repairs
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider team when required
- Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided)
