Mobile Water Treatment Technician (Tier 3) required to deliver full water hygiene and treatment services across the Central Belt of Scotland (Glasgow–Edinburgh corridor). This is a field-based role working across multiple client sites, delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive remedial works.
Key Responsibilities
- Water Hygiene & Treatment Delivery
- Deliver full water hygiene and treatment services across multiple sites
- Temperature monitoring
- Showerhead descaling
- Cold water storage tank inspections and cleaning
- Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection
- TMV servicing and testing
- Water sampling and analysis
- Closed loop system testing, dosing, and control
- LTHW system testing and analysis
- Steam boiler testing and treatment
- Water softener servicing
- Plumbing remedial works
- Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain compliance with L8 ACOP, HSG274, and relevant water regulations
- Ensure all site logbooks are accurate and up to date (when acting as primary technician)
- Complete service reports via digital systems (e.g. Planon) or day works sheets
- Carry out remedial works following quotation approval
- Ensure all works are completed within contractual requirements
- Operational Delivery
- Carry out scheduled PPM visits using company systems and tools
- Liaise with internal teams (schedulers, technical support, contract administrators)
- Coordinate materials and supplies via approved suppliers
- Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted site representative
Working Environment
- Mobile field-based role covering Glasgow–Edinburgh corridor
- Regular travel between client sites required
- Full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week)
Experience & Knowledge Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in water hygiene / water treatment
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Legionella control and prevention
- L8 ACOP
- HSG274 Parts 2 & 3
- Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
Technical Skills (Essential / Desirable)
- Core Experience
- Water sampling and interpretation of results
- TMV servicing and testing
- Hot and cold water system cleaning and disinfection
- Cooling tower cleaning, testing, and disinfection
- Closed loop testing and chemical dosing
- Steam boiler water treatment
