The Role

As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and commissioning of fire alarm systems across commercial buildings.

You'll work independently and alongside a professional engineering team, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and small project works while providing outstanding customer service.

This role also includes participation in a shared out-of-hours call-out rota with an additional standby payment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain commercial fire alarm systems

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

  • Respond to reactive call-outs and fault finding

  • Install, commission and upgrade fire alarm systems

  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs

  • Complete testing and compliance checks

  • Produce electronic service reports and certification

  • Ensure all work complies with current fire safety regulations and British Standards

  • Liaise professionally with customers and site teams

  • Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working on commercial fire alarm systems

  • Strong electrical knowledge and fault-finding experience

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

  • CSCS Card

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

Desirable Qualifications

  • FIA qualifications

  • JIB Gold Card

  • Experience within Facilities Management or Building Services

  • Experience with addressable and conventional fire alarm systems

  • Experience with leading manufacturers such as Gent, Advanced, Morley, Kentec, C-Tec, Notifier, Apollo or similar
