About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team based in Sedgefield. In this role, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical building systems. You’ll be part of a professional team working in a clean, safety-focused environment - where health and safety compliance is key. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and able to communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class maintenance service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance on a range of building services and systems
  • Respond to breakdowns and faults, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Work as part of the on-call rota (1-in-4) with a £150 retainer
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with site health & safety procedures - including wearing appropriate PPE such as gowns, hairnets, and safety gear
  • Conduct fault-finding, testing, and inspection of electrical systems
  • Complete job sheets, reports, and maintenance records accurately
  • Communicate effectively with the client and site team to ensure satisfaction and high service standards
  • Support continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to maintenance processes

Requirements

  • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365, 2330, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (essential)
  • Proven experience in building services maintenance or a facilities management environment
  • Strong knowledge of PPM schedules, reactive maintenance, and fault-finding
  • A commitment to health and safety best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and hardworking attitude - someone who takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile for clients
