We are recruiting a Shift Mechanical Engineer to join the on-site team supporting a high-profile banking client at 5 Appold Street, close to Liverpool Street. This is a 4 on / 4 off day-shift role (7am–7pm), ideal for a mechanically biased engineer who prefers longer shifts, more days off, and a stable, professional corporate environment.

The role

  • You'll be responsible for planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across three occupied office floors.
  • Key duties include:
  • Mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Working on HVAC plant, pumps, and water systems
  • Supporting general building services tasks where required
  • Responding to call-outs and resolving issues efficiently
  • Working closely with a stable on-site team and trusted subcontractors
  • Maintaining health & safety and statutory compliance
  • Completing job sheets and basic documentation accurately

What we’re looking for

  • Mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent)
  • Experience in mechanical building services or FM maintenance
  • Comfortable working in a commercial / corporate environment
  • Good fault-finding ability and a hands-on approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Happy working a 4 on / 4 off day-shift pattern
  • Commercial FM experience is useful, but not essential if your fundamentals are solid.
