Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of retail sites. The role is primarily air conditioning focused, but candidates should have a good all-round understanding of mechanical and electrical building services and be comfortable working in customer-facing environments. You will work independently and as part of a wider engineering team, ensuring HVAC systems are maintained to a high standard and operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and attend reactive breakdowns across retail stores and distribution sites.
- Fault find and repair a range of HVAC systems including split systems, VRF/VRV, AHUs, DX systems, and occasional central plant.
- Support minor upgrades and retrofit works, ensuring minimal disruption to live retail environments.
- Identify remedial works and provide accurate quotations following service visits.
- Complete all required F-Gas documentation and update maintenance records using internal systems.
- Work closely with other engineers, subcontractors, and site managers to deliver a professional and consistent service.
Skills & Experience Required
- NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (minimum).
- F-Gas (C&G 2079 – Category 1) – essential.
- Strong working knowledge of air conditioning systems and general M&E services.
- Previous experience in a mobile commercial or retail maintenance role.
- Confident fault-finding and problem-solving ability with a customer-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence (up to 6 points).
