We are currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable and growing HVAC contractor for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer. This is a long-term opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dedicated team, delivering high-quality installation, service, and maintenance across the UK.

About the Role

As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you\’ll be responsible for working on a wide range of commercial systems including split systems, multi-splits, VRV/VRF units, air handling units (AHUs), and ventilation systems. This role includes travel and occasional overnight stays (accommodation and expenses covered). Electrical experience is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, service, and repair of HVAC systems (split, multi-split, VRV/VRF, AHUs)

  • Ensure installations meet all safety, compliance, and quality standards

  • Maintain accurate service records, including refrigerant use and leak testing (F-Gas compliant)

  • Read technical drawings and wiring schematics

  • Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company professionally on-site

  • Provide guidance and leadership when required on project sites

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in HVAC installation

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent)

  • F-Gas (2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants) certification

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong mechanical knowledge including ductwork, AHUs, and pipework

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must supply own hand tools (specialist tools provided)

  • CSCS, IPAF and PASMA certifications are advantageous

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: £39,500 – £47,000 depending on experience

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (1-hour lunch)

  • Company vehicle and fuel card

  • Door-to-door travel paid

  • No on-call rota

  • Optional weekend work paid at 1.5x

  • 22 days annual leave + bank holidays

  • PPE, uniform, and specialist equipment provided
