As a Mechanical Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial gas systems, primarily within plant rooms and boiler houses. The role will also involve water treatment duties and occasional basic plumbing tasks, making it ideal for a well-rounded engineer who enjoys a varied workload. You will cover sites across Slough, Uxbridge, and surrounding areas, with travel typically kept within a reasonable range (up to 1.5 hours).
Key Responsibilities- Service, maintenance, and fault finding on commercial gas systems
- Working on boiler rooms and plant equipment
- Carrying out water treatment tasks and system monitoring
- Completing minor plumbing works when required
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards and regulations
- Providing a high level of service when interacting with clients on-site
- Proven experience in a similar Mechanical Gas Engineer role
- Strong background working within commercial environments
- Experience with boilers, plant rooms, and associated systems
- Gas qualifications (commercial preferred)
- Basic plumbing skills (highly desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- A professional, reliable, and self-motivated approach
- Up to £55,000 salary (depending on experience)
- Regular and guaranteed overtime opportunities
- Saturday: Time & a Half
- Sunday: Double Time
- On-call rota: 1 in 8 (well-managed and fairly distributed)
- 40-hour working week
- Travel time structured fairly (30-minute deduction each way)
