Mechanical Project Manager
Location: London & M25 - ideally based within 1 hour of the M25
Salary: £70,000-£75,000 + 10% Bonus + £5,000-£6,000 Car Allowance
Hours: Monday - Friday
Working: Flexible / Site Based
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join an established and growing HVAC and Building Services company, delivering large-scale mechanical projects across London and the surrounding areas.
This is a senior projects position with a strong focus on decarbonisation, chiller replacements, large boiler replacements and mechanical installations, with individual project values typically reaching £1.5m-£2m.
The role offers flexible working, although you will spend a significant amount of time on project sites.
The Role
You will take responsibility for mechanical projects from initial planning through to completion, managing programme, labour, subcontractors, commercial performance and client relationships.
Duties will include:
- Managing mechanical and HVAC projects from start through to completion
- Delivering decarbonisation and energy-efficiency projects
- Managing projects valued up to approximately £1.5m-£2m
- Chiller replacement projects
- Large commercial boiler replacements
- Heat pump and low-carbon mechanical installations
- Plant room upgrades and replacements
- AHU and associated HVAC projects
- Managing direct labour and specialist subcontractors
- Planning labour, materials and project programmes
- Procurement of equipment and materials
- Managing project budgets, costs and variations
- Monitoring project progress, quality and timescales
- Attending site and client meetings
- Managing health & safety throughout projects
- Liaising with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
- Overseeing commissioning and project handover
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
What We're Looking For
- Strong Mechanical / HVAC Project Management experience
- Commercial building services experience is essential
- Experience managing large mechanical projects
- Previous decarbonisation project experience highly desirable
- Ideally experienced managing projects in the £1.5m-£2m range
- Strong experience with chillers, commercial boilers and mechanical installations
- Confident managing engineers and subcontractors
- Strong commercial and client-facing skills
- No specific qualification is essential – relevant experience is the priority
