Location: Preston (Hybrid working option available after 1 year)
Salary: £50,000-£55,000 plus company vehicle or car allowance
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:00, Friday 08:00-16:30
Office Access: 07:30-17:00 with on-site parking
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join a well-established mechanical services team based in Preston. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of refurbishment and fit-out projects across the public and commercial sectors.
Typical projects include HVAC fit-outs, heating refurbishments, WC refurbishments, and Theatre Air Balancing works. Contract values range from £50,000 up to £4 million. The role requires strong client engagement with regular site visits and meetings.
Following a one-year period fully office-based, there is an option to adopt a hybrid working pattern (60% office, 40% remote).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical services contracts from initiation through to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to high-quality standards
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Attend site meetings and client consultations as required, including outside normal working hours
- Coordinate closely with colleagues across the management team
- Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and communication
Requirements
- HNC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Building Services or a related discipline
- Valid SSSTS/SMSTS certification and CSCS card
- Demonstrable experience managing mechanical services contracts, particularly in refurbishment and HVAC
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Experience managing contract values between £50,000 and £4 million
