Mobile Water Treatment Technician (Tier 3) required to deliver water hygiene and treatment services across the North West and North East of England. Role involves travelling to multiple client sites and occasional overnight stays. Responsible for delivering full water compliance and treatment services across commercial and public sector buildings in line with legislative and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Water Hygiene & Treatment Delivery
- Carry out full water hygiene and treatment services including:
- Temperature monitoring
- Showerhead descales
- Cold water storage tank inspections and cleaning
- Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection
- TMV servicing and testing
- Water sampling and analysis
- Closed loop system testing, dosing, and analysis
- LTHW system testing and analysis
- Steam boiler testing and water treatment
- Water softener servicing
- Plumbing remedial works
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all work complies with L8 ACOP, HSG274, and relevant water regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site logbooks (where acting as primary technician)
- Carry out PPM visits using company systems and tools
- Respond promptly to service requests and breakdowns
Working Environment
- Mobile role covering North West & North East England
- Travel between multiple sites required
- Occasional overnight stays
Experience & Knowledge Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in water hygiene / treatment
- Strong understanding of:
- Legionella control and prevention
- Water Hygiene regulations and guidance:
- L8 ACOP
- HSG274 Parts 2 & 3
- Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
- Experience delivering services aligned to HSG274 requirements
Technical Skills (Essential / Desirable)
- Core Skills
- Water sampling and interpretation of sample suites
- TMV servicing and testing
- Cleaning & disinfection of hot and cold water systems
- Cooling tower testing, cleaning, and disinfection
- Closed loop system testing and chemical dosing
- Basic plumbing remedial works
- Desirable Training / Qualifications
- Legionella Awareness training
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing, Heating, or Chemistry (or equivalent)
- TMV servicing qualification (WH018)
