Overview

Maintenance Electrician — Base Location: Birmingham & Surrounding Areas. Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Package: Competitive salary + van + excellent benefits.

The Company

Our client is a long-established and expanding building services maintenance provider, delivering electrical and mechanical solutions to customers nationwide. Operating for over two decades, they support a diverse portfolio of contracts across retail, leisure, hospitality, education, healthcare, industrial, and commercial sectors. Due to continued growth and new contract wins, they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their Midlands-based team on a permanent basis.

The Role

This is a mobile role involving a mix of reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a range of commercial properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive fault-finding, repairs, and call-outs on electrical systems and installations.
  • Complete planned maintenance (PPM) in line with service schedules and industry standards.
  • Perform inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems to BS7671 regulations.
  • Diagnose electrical issues on lighting, power, control, and distribution systems.
  • Support additional maintenance tasks (basic mechanical or fabric works) when required.
  • Liaise with clients and site representatives to ensure works are completed efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records via mobile job management software.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policies and all statutory electrical compliance.

About You

  • Qualified Electrician – NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent

  • 2391 Test & Inspection – desirable
  • Proven experience within a commercial maintenance or FM environment
  • Confident in fault-finding, repairs, and PPM delivery
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence
