General Maintenance Operative (Fabric/Plumbing)

Location: South Kensington, London Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

We're looking for General Maintenance Operatives to join a large on-site maintenance team on a prestigious higher education contract in South Kensington.

The Role

Working as part of a well-established team, you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a busy commercial estate, helping to keep the buildings safe, compliant and fully operational.

Typical duties include

  • Planned and reactive building maintenance
  • General fabric repairs
  • Basic plumbing maintenance and repairs
  • Carpentry, patch plastering, painting and decorating
  • Tiling and general building repairs
  • Door, lock and ironmongery repairs
  • Assisting with minor project works and office moves
  • Working closely with engineers and other trades on site

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in commercial building maintenance
  • A background as a Fabric Engineer, Maintenance Operative, Handyperson or Multi-Skilled Operative
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Plumbing experience is desirable for one of the vacancies
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
