Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Healthcare Division
Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a leading facilities management provider. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded engineer with supervisory experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within a critical healthcare environment.
Working closely with the Mechanical Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, ensuring the smooth delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and coordinate a team of engineers across the healthcare site.
- Act as deputy to the Mechanical Manager, providing cover and support when required.
- Oversee the completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules in line with contractual requirements.
- Ensure reactive maintenance issues are responded to and resolved efficiently to minimise disruption to critical services.
- Carry out routine inspections and spot checks within plant rooms and other mechanical service areas.
- Monitor the quality of maintenance activities and ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
- Allocate daily workloads and provide technical guidance and support to engineering staff.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, company policies and site procedures.
- Review and maintain risk assessments and method statements, ensuring safe systems of work are always followed.
- Liaise with management, subcontractors and client representatives regarding ongoing maintenance activities and site issues.
- Identify opportunities for service improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met across the contract.
- Support the development and mentoring of engineers within the team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory, lead engineer or team leader position within a building services or facilities management environment.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems.
- Relevant engineering qualifications are desirable; however, candidates with either mechanical, plumbing or electrical qualifications will be considered.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and compliance requirements.
- Experience working within critical environments or healthcare settings would be advantageous.
