JOB PURPOSE: To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in Distribution Centres as defined on the “Scope of Works Task Sheets” in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy. KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES * Complete the PPM schedule within agreed KPI timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures. * To work flexibly within the cluster as required * Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary. * Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times. * Order spares to the laid-down procedures. * Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement. * Where plant and equipment is non-repairable, to make recommendations to the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager regarding suitable replacement. * Advise the GM and distribution line managers of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the depot. * Assist the Cluster Facilities Manager in his/her duties to manage and control depot third party alliance contractors and ensure service inspection paperwork is correctly filed on site. * Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager. * Carry out minor alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications. Also carry out all relevant testing and inspection supported with full company certification * Complete general repairs and maintenance to Asda Distribution sites as designated by the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager, e.g. this may include general building repairs * Assist City colleagues in other areas when requested to do so by the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager. * Ensure all tools and equipment necessary (as per company tool list) to complete maintenance and repairs are used in the correct manner and are available and serviceable at all times. * Liaise with project teams on any site alterations, modernisations and other relevant works. * Maintain accurate Time Sheets as required * Carry out all tasks in accordance with specific KPI’s * Attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments. * Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times. * Work with company and Asda colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times. * Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager * Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and Asda colleagues. * Ensure that all costs are approved following the correct process. KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Essential:? * C&G 2382 (18th edition) * Level 3 core Electrical qualification, examples of which are: C&G2330, C&G 2365 (with relevant experience), C&G2365 etc. Desirable: * Familiarity with completion of electrical certification * City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection * Time served in electrical discipline or have relevant industry experience in a similar role
