We are recruiting a Lead Mechanical Engineer to work on a large, live hospital estate in Hammersmith. This role is suited to a Lead Mechanical Engineer with strong building services experience who is ready to take responsibility for mechanical systems while remaining hands-on in a critical healthcare environment.
Role Overview
- Take ownership of mechanical maintenance across the hospital estate, supporting safe, compliant operation of critical plant.
- Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance within a hospital environment.
- Working on pumps, motors, pipework, plant rooms and AHUs.
- Acting as the mechanical technical lead on site.
- Supporting statutory compliance, permits and safe systems of work.
- Supervising specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Completing reports, documentation and maintenance records.
- Supporting service delivery in a live, operational healthcare setting.
This is a hands-on role with added responsibility and visibility.
Candidate Requirements
- Mechanical qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 or equivalent).
- Strong background in mechanical building services maintenance.
- Experience operating as a Lead Mechanical Engineer or stepping up into a Lead Mechanical Engineer role.
- Confident with paperwork, reports and compliance documentation.
- Healthcare or critical environment experience is beneficial but not essential.
