Solar PV Electrician – Aberdeen
Up to £50,000 + Company EV + Excellent Benefits Aberdeen & North East Scotland | Permanent | Full-Time | Field-Based
We are recruiting an experienced Solar PV Electrician to join a growing directly employed renewables team covering Aberdeen and the wider North East Scotland region.
This is a permanent field-based role focused mainly on the electrical installation, testing and commissioning of domestic Solar PV systems.
The business is continuing to expand its in-house engineering team across Scotland and is looking for experienced electricians who can work independently, maintain high installation standards and deliver a professional service in customer homes.
The Role
As a Solar PV Electrician, you will
- Carry out domestic Solar PV electrical installations
- Install and connect inverters, isolators and associated AC/DC equipment
- Complete testing, inspection and commissioning
- Carry out fault finding and remedial works where required
- Complete electrical certification and digital job documentation
- Work across a range of domestic Solar PV systems
- Work alongside dedicated roofing teams completing the roof-side installation
- Liaise directly with customers and complete professional handovers
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and compliance
- Support installation quality and resolve technical issues on site
There may also be opportunities to work across other low-carbon technologies, including EV charging, with training provided where required.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a fully qualified electrician with
- Previous hands-on Solar PV installation experience
- Strong domestic electrical installation experience
- SVQ Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent
- 18th Edition
- Good testing, fault-finding and commissioning ability
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Confidence working independently in occupied domestic properties
- Strong customer service and communication skills
SJIB / ECS / Gold Card and additional renewable qualifications would be beneficial.
Battery storage experience is useful but is not essential.
