The Role

We are seeking an experienced Fabric Estimator to join our London-based team, specialising in fabric maintenance works across commercial and residential buildings. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on background in carpentry, plumbing, or general building maintenance, who has moved (or is moving) into an estimating position. You'll be primarily office-based, with flexibility to attend client sites where required to support accurate scoping and pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates and quotations for fabric maintenance works
  • Price jobs relating to carpentry, plumbing, joinery, patch repairs, flooring, doors, ceilings, and general fabric works
  • Work with schedule of rates and bespoke pricing
  • Produce quotation and tender presentation packs
  • Liaise with operational teams to clarify scope, access requirements, and technical detail
  • Review quotations with management and support problem-solving where required
  • Ensure all estimates comply with Health & Safety requirements
  • Procure materials and equipment needed to deliver works
  • Attend site visits when necessary to ensure accurate pricing and job understanding

About You

  • Proven experience estimating fabric maintenance works within FM or building maintenance
  • Strong background in carpentry, plumbing, or general building/fabric maintenance
  • Good understanding of schedule of rates and maintenance pricing
  • Technically minded with the ability to interpret job specs and drawings
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Confident dealing with clients, engineers, and management
  • Highly organised, numerate, and detail-focused
  • Competent using Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing workloads
