The Role
We are seeking an experienced Fabric Estimator to join our London-based team, specialising in fabric maintenance works across commercial and residential buildings. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on background in carpentry, plumbing, or general building maintenance, who has moved (or is moving) into an estimating position. You'll be primarily office-based, with flexibility to attend client sites where required to support accurate scoping and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates and quotations for fabric maintenance works
- Price jobs relating to carpentry, plumbing, joinery, patch repairs, flooring, doors, ceilings, and general fabric works
- Work with schedule of rates and bespoke pricing
- Produce quotation and tender presentation packs
- Liaise with operational teams to clarify scope, access requirements, and technical detail
- Review quotations with management and support problem-solving where required
- Ensure all estimates comply with Health & Safety requirements
- Procure materials and equipment needed to deliver works
- Attend site visits when necessary to ensure accurate pricing and job understanding
About You
- Proven experience estimating fabric maintenance works within FM or building maintenance
- Strong background in carpentry, plumbing, or general building/fabric maintenance
- Good understanding of schedule of rates and maintenance pricing
- Technically minded with the ability to interpret job specs and drawings
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Confident dealing with clients, engineers, and management
- Highly organised, numerate, and detail-focused
- Competent using Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Flexible and adaptable to changing workloads
