Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC / Building Services
We’re recruiting an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join the engineering team at Wembley Stadium, one of the UK’s most iconic venues.
This is a permanent, days-only Monday to Friday role, supervising the mechanical and HVAC maintenance team across a large, technically complex building.
The role would suit an experienced Mechanical Supervisor, HVAC Supervisor or Senior Mechanical Engineer who is technically strong, confident fault finding and comfortable leading a small engineering team.
This is not a plumbing-only role.
We are looking for someone with a genuine HVAC / mechanical building services background, with strong knowledge of heating, ventilation, pumps, controls and commercial mechanical plant.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for supervising the day-to-day mechanical maintenance operation across the site, including:
- Leading and supporting a team of 3 direct reports
- Managing planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Maintaining HVAC, heating and ventilation systems
- Fault finding on mechanical plant and associated controls
- Working with pumps, valves, water tanks, pipework and associated systems
- Repairing pumps, including mechanical seals and common pump failures
- Using Trend BMS to investigate faults and monitor plant
- Ensuring PPM and reactive works are completed correctly and on time
- Supporting minor works, installations and remedial works
- Managing Health & Safety and safe systems of work
- Carrying out safety briefings and team meetings
- Managing holidays, timesheets, absence and performance
- Supporting training and development within the engineering team
- Liaising directly with the client and explaining technical issues clearly
- Maintaining accurate engineering records and documentation
You’ll need to be hands‑on enough to support engineers technically while also having the confidence to manage people and communicate with the client.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, HVAC Supervisor, Mechanical Contract Supervisor or Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Strong commercial HVAC and mechanical maintenance experience
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning or similar
- Strong knowledge of heating and ventilation systems
- Experience working with pumps, valves, AHUs and associated plant
- Good fault-finding ability
- Experience using BMS systems, ideally Trend
- Understanding of electrical controls, safe isolation and basic electrical fault finding
- Experience supervising or leading engineers
- Good customer-facing and communication skills

- F-Gas / City & Guilds 2079
- Mechanical Authorised Person experience
- Experience working within a large commercial, stadium, hospital, airport or other technically demanding environment
