Plumber
Location: North Ferriby
Sector: Facilities Management / Critical Site Operations
Role type: Full-time
Are you a skilled Static Plumber looking for your next challenge in a dynamic, high-profile environment?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading facilities management team delivering essential maintenance services at a major global e-commerce and logistics site. You’ll play a key role in keeping the building, its water systems and supporting infrastructure operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
Working within a busy, technology-driven environment where uptime and operational performance are crucial, the Plumber will take ownership of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and fault-finding, while supporting wider building maintenance activities.
If you enjoy hands-on technical work, solving problems and being part of a professional team where your contribution genuinely matters, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
The role
As a Static Plumber, you will be responsible for maintaining plumbing and mechanical systems across the site, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and emergency repairs across plumbing and water systems.
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs, replacements and installations on pipework, valves, fixtures, outlets and water distribution systems.
- Maintaining waste and drainage systems, including clearing blockages using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Completing routine plumbing inspections and supporting water hygiene and Legionella awareness activities.
- Assisting with water temperature monitoring and other relevant checks in line with site procedures and your level of training and competence.
- Carrying out plumbing safety checks, including backflow prevention devices where appropriately qualified.
- Supporting contractors and other engineering teams with installations, projects and maintenance activities.
- Undertaking general building fabric and facilities maintenance duties when required.
- Responding promptly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requests to minimise disruption to site operations.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring all work complies with site procedures, relevant regulations and health and safety standards.
As a Plumber, you will work closely with the wider on-site facilities team, helping maintain a safe, compliant and well-functioning environment.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing, City & Guilds, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Previous experience in a maintenance plumbing, facilities maintenance or building services environment.
- Good practical knowledge of plumbing systems, water distribution, pipework and drainage.
- Experience carrying out PPM, reactive maintenance, repairs and fault-finding.
- An understanding of Legionella risks, water hygiene and safe water system management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when required.
- Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills.
- A flexible, proactive and customer-focused approach.
- A commitment to working safely and following site procedures at all times.
- Experience in a large commercial, industrial, logistics or other high-demand operational environment would be advantageous.
Why join?
This is more than a routine maintenance position. As a Plumber, you'll have the opportunity to work within a major, high-profile operation where facilities engineering plays an essential role in keeping day-to-day activities running smoothly.
Ready for your next challenge?
If you're a qualified plumbing professional who takes pride in your work and wants to develop your career in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, we'd love to hear from you.
