We are seeking a commercially astute and operationally grounded Finance Director to join the Executive Leadership Team of a well‑established and growing Facilities Management organisation. You might be currently in a CFO role or a current Finance Director looking for an opportunity to progress into a CFO role within a rapidly growing FM business.
Reporting directly to the MD, the CFO will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy, supporting sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and value creation across a multi‑contract, service‑led business. This is a hands‑on, strategic role requiring strong leadership, deep sector understanding, and the ability to partner closely with operations, commercial, and executive teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, governance, and reporting
- Own the company’s financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term planning
- Provide commercial insight to support contract pricing, bid activity, margin improvement, and cost control
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and funding requirements
- Partner with operational leadership to drive performance across contracts and regions
- Lead statutory reporting, audit, tax, and compliance matters
- Support M&A activity, integration, and due diligence where applicable
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board, and shareholders
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and MI
- Proven CFO or Finance Director – must have experience within Facilities Management or mobile engineering.
- Experience operating at £60m–£100m turnover or comparable complexity
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving margins and financial performance
- Confident working in a fast‑paced, contract‑based, operationally intensive business
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experienced leader with the ability to influence at executive and board level
- Comfortable being both strategic and hands‑on
